Actor Alex Fine covers the November issue of MMSCENE Magazine, photographed by Ryan Blackwell and styled by Lewis Stratton. The cover story, now live on our sister publication, follows an actor whose route to the screen came through football, professional bull riding and fitness before landing in some of the most talked-about productions on television.
Fine has appeared in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883, Peter Berg’s American Primeval and Guy Ritchie’s MobLand, where he plays Donnie opposite Tom Hardy. The shoot features looks from Dior, Issey Miyake, AMI Paris, Sandro, Canali, Philipp Dorner, Benjamin Robin, Geordie Campbell and untitlab.
Grooming by Hayden Cassidy Using Dior Beauty
For the beauty-minded, the grooming on the cover story was handled by Hayden Cassidy at A-Frame Agency using Dior Beauty, keeping the focus on a clean, natural finish that lets the character of each look come through. Fashion assistance was provided by Logun Screen.
Discipline Behind the Performance
In the accompanying interview, conducted by Katarina Doric, Fine reflects on how a physical background shaped his approach to acting. After moving into the craft, he studied in London alongside ballet, dialect, combat and weapons training, choosing to work on what felt least comfortable. “With sports it’s a simple formula to success. Hard work and talent = success. With acting I wanted to work on everything I felt vulnerable in,” he says. Ballet, in particular, proved a challenge. “Before I was stiff as a board from so many broken bones so ballet was brutally hard.”
That physical awareness carries into his characters. “I think posture, movement, and how you walk into a room tells everything about you before saying a word,” Fine explains. “If you want to seem confident, or vulnerable, scared, excited. That can all be seen through your body before a word is said.“

Working Opposite Tom Hardy
On MobLand, Fine’s Donnie enters as an adversary to Hardy’s Harry. His approach was built on restraint. “A calmness, stillness, a mystery. I think it’s cool you don’t know his background,” he says. Off screen, the dynamic was very different. “He’s the best. He became my closest friend on the show.“
Fine also used his downtime on set to learn from the wider cast, sometimes showing up on days off just to watch. “I learned a lot from them on those days, because it was similar to watching live theatre.”
Fashion, Family and What Comes Next
Fine has also begun to find his place in fashion, walking runway shows for KidSuper and Louis-Gabriel Nouchi in Paris. He keeps the perspective of where he started. “I had no idea what designer brands were, what fashion shows or what fashion weeks even were. So to walk in them in Paris for cool people is just something for my childhood self.”
As a father of three, he says family has deepened his commitment to the work rather than changed it. “It’s so special to me because film lives forever and I just want my kids to be proud of me and the work I do.“

Looking ahead, Fine is open to range. “Maybe a foreign film where I speak Spanish. Or maybe a comedy, or rom com,” he says, naming a Bond villain and an X-Men role among his dream parts.
