Dario Vitale made his debut as creative director of Versace with the Spring Summer 2026 collection, presented at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan. Staged among Renaissance masterpieces and historic chambers, the show unearthed the foundations of the house, drawing from letters, photographs, art, and ephemera to inform gesture, attitude, and presence.

They were joined by a wider circle of cultural figures including Camille Vivier, Chanmina, Chuquimamani-Condori, Dara Allen, Jonathan Bazzi, Ju Jingyi, Laysla De Oliveira, Ludwig Hurtado, Luna Carmoon, Mariuccia Casadio, Simone Bozelli, and Talia Ryder. Together, this diverse group framed the significance of Dario Vitale’s first season at Versace, lending the evening both resonance and reach.

The collection itself framed dressing as an articulation of context and encounter. Tailoring, négligée, leather, denim, and printed shirting appeared with new articulation, carrying archival codes reworked for contemporary realities. Mediterranean classicism collided with irreverence, producing silhouettes both opulent and lived-in. Mixed-metal dresses returned with ease, striped denim pulsed with reckless vitality, and patched leather blousons with layered knits conveyed intimacy in motion. Sensuality shaped every garment, positioning sex as stature, drape, and silhouette.

Fabrications intensified this duality. Etched leathers, pleated silks, and lurid-toned prints connected to the house’s codes while pushing decadence forward. Trompe l’œil gold chains, elaborate beading, and taut drapes suggested both glamour and restraint. Saturated hues, drawn from the Mediterranean and Miami Beach, drenched denim and silks, inviting touch and gaze.
