For its Spring Preview 2026 issue, V Magazine turns to 1960s mod beauty as a clear visual reference, with JENNIE at the center of the transformation. The beauty direction draws from the decade’s most recognizable codes, focusing on structure, sharp lines, and deliberate restraint rather than overt nostalgia.

Hair defines the silhouette of the look. Styled by Gabe Sin, the cut references classic short bobs and pixie styles that framed the face with precision in the 1960s. The emphasis sits on clean geometry and polish, allowing the shape itself to carry the statement. Cropped lengths and controlled volume underline the era’s fascination with form, translating it into a modern, editorial context.

Makeup, created by Sol Lee, stays faithful to the mod approach of graphic definition. The eyes become the focal point, marked by bold liner, sharp contours, and emphasized lashes. Skin remains smooth and even, supporting the strong eye without competing with it. Lips are kept minimal, reinforcing the idea of beauty as design, intentional, edited, and precise.

Nails, by Zola Ganzorigt, complement the overall restraint, staying refined and controlled to match the sharpness of the hair and makeup.

The shoot was photographed by MAR+VIN and styled by V Magazine Senior Fashion Editor Anna Trevelyan, with the interview conducted by Mathias Rosenzweig. The issue is led by Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief Stephen Gan, with editorial direction from Kev Ponce. Casting was handled by Greg Krelenstein, and the set was designed by Isaac Aaron, supported by Matt Banister. Production was overseen by Alexey Galetskiy, with retouching by Bruno Rezende.

Seen through a beauty lens, the V158 story frames 1960s-inspired looks as a study in discipline and clarity. Short hair, graphic makeup, and controlled finishes return as tools of precision, proving that mod beauty continues to resonate when executed with focus and intent.
