Haus Labs has introduced The Edge Lip Shaping Pencil, a new longwear lip liner developed in 18 nude shades inspired by natural lip tones. The launch expands the brand’s lip category with a formula designed for precise definition, smooth application and extended wear.

Haus Labs developed the shade range with Global Artistry Director Sarah Tanno and its product development team. The process involved testing across more than 275 models, allowing the team to study variations in natural lip pigmentation before selecting the final 18 colors.

The range covers cool, warm and neutral undertones. Haus Labs designed the shades to work close to a wearer’s natural lip tone, while deeper options can support contouring and definition.

The Edge Lip Shaping Pencil delivers high-pigment color with a soft-matte finish. The formula allows time for shaping and blending before setting, giving users flexibility when defining the lip line or creating a softer, diffused effect.

Haus Labs developed the pencil with longwear performance in mind. The transfer-proof formula aims to maintain its finish throughout the day while keeping the application comfortable.

The brand also incorporated vitamin E, ceramides and jojoba oil into the formula. These ingredients support smooth glide and help the pencil move across the lips without pulling or skipping during application.

Haus Labs tested the product through a third-party consumer perception study involving 50 participants between the ages of 18 and 55. Immediately after application, 100 percent agreed that the pencil glided on smoothly, while 98 percent said it was simple to apply. The same percentage reported full-coverage color in one swipe. After 12 hours, 92 percent of participants described the pencil as comfortable to wear throughout the day, while 90 percent said it continued to feel weightless.

The development process focused closely on color, glide, blendability and wear. Tanno and the Haus Labs team approached nude shades through natural lip pigmentation rather than treating nude as a single universal tone.

The shade selection includes Rich Velvet, Midnight Chenille, Taupe Tweed, Plum Pashmina, Cocoa Corduroy, Chocolate Velour, Burnt Suede, Shady Linen, Taffeta Blush, Tan Leather, Cashmere Rouge, Pink Chiffon, Antique Lace, Petal Poplin, Nude Satin, Peony Tulle, Soft Organza and Rose Silk.

Behind the launch sits what Haus Labs describes as years of artistry, with the brand using extensive model testing to develop a range grounded in real lip tones. Sarah Tanno’s role in the project connects product development with professional makeup application, while the final formula balances definition, blendability and extended wear.
