Givenchy has introduced Le Rouge Velvet Matte, a new lipstick designed to deliver a natural matte finish with advanced care benefits. This launch reimagines the brand’s first lipstick from 1962, updating its silhouette with a modern design lacquered in black and finished with a silver 4G seal. The slim bullet allows precise application, while the formula provides a smooth, comfortable feel from the first swipe.

Le Rouge Velvet Matte offers a natural blurring matte effect that plumps, smooths, and defines lips upon application. The formula includes a 2% hyaluronic acid complex to help create visibly fuller and more moisturized lips, working from within to enhance volume and texture. Shea butter adds comfort, enveloping the lips in care while maintaining a lightweight texture.

Instrumental testing on 31 women showed six hours of hydration, while clinical testing on 25 women reported a plumping effect lasting up to 24 hours. The formula also delivers 12 hours of soft-focus smoothing, 24 hours of even color, and protection against feathering. Its bare-skin sensation makes it comfortable for all-day wear.
The collection features 17 shades divided into three color families: Nudes (N), Pinks (P), and Reds (R). Each shade is inspired by couture silhouettes, with tones designed to complement all skin tones. The range includes skin-reviving nudes, fresh pinks, and vibrant reds, offering options for various styles and occasions.
Givenchy recommends starting at the center of the lips, applying the lipstick to the corners of the mouth, beginning with the upper lip and then the lower lip. The slim bullet ensures accuracy and control during application, helping to sculpt and define the lips in a single motion.
For enhanced care, the brand suggests pairing Le Rouge Velvet Matte with Le Rouge Baume. First, apply Le Rouge Baume, which contains 96% natural origin ingredients and delivers 24-hour hydration. After allowing the balm to absorb, remove any excess product before applying Le Rouge Velvet Matte to achieve a refined, blurry matte couture finish.
