Dior presents Miss Dior Essence as a new flanker in the Miss Dior line, created by Francis Kurkdjian, the house’s Perfume Creative Director. The composition offers an expressive take on confident, liberated femininity, reimagining the floral-chypre structure with gourmand accents built from rich fruit, lush florals, and a grounding woody base.
The fragrance opens with the sweetness of blackberry jam layered over elderflower accord. This combination evokes the texture and depth of wild preserves, brightened by the freshness of elderflower. The top also includes marmalade and black elder, building a fruit profile that feels both opulent and vivid.
At the center of the scent, jasmine sambac and jasmine absolute form a generous floral bouquet. This heart references the original 1947 Miss Dior composition, placing jasmine at the core but amplifying it with the juicy character of the top notes. Kurkdjian constructs the heart with an intensity that makes it feel almost tangible, as though the petals could be felt against the skin.
The base relies on oakwood and woody accords. These notes give the fragrance a dense, enveloping finish that anchors the brighter elements above it. The combination of oak’s depth with the earlier floral and fruit notes results in a structure that feels both lush and grounded.
Kurkdjian describes the fragrance as “hyper-feminine” in its concentration and its trail, reflecting women who reject anything that might limit their freedom. He calls the Essence version “a sensual, colorful nectar that melts onto the skin,” aimed at a younger generation that approaches life with extravagance and resists gloominess.
Visually, Miss Dior Essence connects to its lineage while presenting a fresh finish. The bottle features frosted glass etched with Dior’s houndstooth motif. A black grosgrain poignard bow sits at the neck, echoing details from Christian Dior’s original design.
Miss Dior Essence will be available in 35 ml, 50 ml, and 80 ml bottles. The fragrance is set to launch in two days, with a complimentary sample offered with all orders for a limited time, giving customers the chance to experience it before the official release.
