Julia Roberts fronts the new Lancôme campaign for La Vie Est Belle Very Cherry, a new interpretation of the fragrance line she has represented for years. The 58-year-old actress appears in a playful campaign built around the scent’s dark cherry accord, with filmmaker Damien Chazelle directing the accompanying spot to Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.”
FRAGRANCES
The film begins with Roberts noticing a single cherry before a cascade of fruit leads to the new fragrance bottle. Very Cherry combines the La Vie Est Belle line’s iris note with a dark cherry accord. Violet leaf absolute, cocoa bean, rose absolute heart, oud accord, benzoin resin and musk complete the composition.

Lancôme presents the campaign around the idea of embracing unexpected moments. Roberts wears cherry-toned clothing with beauty looks that follow the same warm direction as the fragrance and campaign imagery.
Makeup artist Genevieve Herr, who has worked with Roberts for 25 years, drew inspiration from the scent’s fruity and woody character. She kept the makeup fresh and natural, with luminous skin and softly defined lips. Herr used Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow Serum Foundation to create a glowing finish while keeping the complexion smooth and hydrated.
For the lips, she applied L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte Soft Matte Lipstick in 320 Hush Hush, a neutral mauve shade. Herr also worked with Idôle Tint Liquid Eyeshadow & Eyeliner, choosing the lightweight formula to complete the eye look without adding visual heaviness.

Hairstylist Serge Normant followed the warmer direction established by the cherry tones. Roberts’ hair carries a slightly warmer color created by longtime colorist Kadi Lee, while Normant focused on bringing out her natural texture. He used his Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray and a one-inch curling iron in selected sections to create loose waves and volume.
Roberts has worked with Lancôme since the brand announced her as an ambassadress in 2009. She appeared in her first La Vie Est Belle campaign in 2012 and has continued to represent the fragrance line in the years since.
Lancôme places Roberts once again at the center of the fragrance line, this time through dark cherry notes and warm beauty choice.
