John Varvatos will launch OUD, a new fragrance for men, in October 2014. Centering on the prized agarwood note described as “liquid gold”, the Eau de Toilette features oud harvested in Thailand through the Givaudan program, Innovative Naturals created 7 years ago.
The rich Eau de Toilette features Levantine Cypress, verbena, nutmeg, sage and juniper berries in the head notes. The heart showcases opulent spices such as Persian saffron, royal cinnamon from Laos, Malabur pepper, Sri Lankan cardamom, Zanzibar clove with floral notes of osmanthus absolute, Turkish rose absolute and Egyptian jasmine. The sillage rests on oud oil, Lebanon cedarwood, Andalusian labdanum, myrrh, Opoponax, incense, black leather and amber.
The flacon is said to mimic a mircrophone and to reproduce the rock ‘n’ roll fashion codes of the house of Varvatos.
The fragrance will be available as a 125 ml Eau de Toilette.
