Tatcha expands its skincare lineup with the launch of the Kissu Lip Mask Gold Leaf, a limited edition version of its bestselling lip mask. The product introduces a luxurious treatment designed to hydrate, plump, and leave lips with a luminous golden finish.
Gold has held significance for Tatcha since its beginnings. The brand’s first product, the Aburatorigami blotting papers, featured 23-karat gold leaf, a beauty tradition rooted in the practices of geisha. The new lip mask honors those origins through a collaboration with Japanese artisans who continue the centuries-old craft of working with gold leaf.
The mask’s formula incorporates Japanese Peach Extract, an ingredient used for centuries to repair damaged lips. It also features Japanese Camellia Oil, which helps seal in moisture, and biomimetic squalane, known to improve the skin barrier and deeply hydrate.
Tatcha has shared clinical results that reinforce the effectiveness of the formula. According to brand testing, 100 percent of users experienced improved lip texture in one day. After two weeks, 92 percent agreed their lips looked fuller. These findings highlight the mask’s ability to smooth fine lines, soften texture, and improve the lips’ ability to retain moisture over time.
With regular use, the Kissu Lip Mask Gold Leaf plumps and smooths while enhancing the lips’ natural appearance. A single layer delivers moisture and adds a subtle golden shimmer, creating a luxurious finish that connects to traditional Japanese beauty rituals. Geisha once crushed 23-karat gold leaf onto their lips for a soft gleam, and this product reimagines that practice through a modern lens.
Tatcha has formulated the mask without synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, sulfates, detergents, parabens, urea, DEA, TEA, or phthalates. This approach reflects the brand’s philosophy of clean formulations combined with heritage ingredients. For use, the brand recommends massaging a generous layer onto clean, dry lips, day or night.
The mask arrives in a 9.0 g jar, priced at $29, and brings together Japanese craftsmanship, botanical extracts, and 23-karat gold. Available now on Tatcha’s website, the mask will soon reach additional retailers.
