Under the theme “The Power of Colours“, Maybelline New York presented the It- Looks of 2016 in a spectacular show we had never witnessed before. In addition to the models strolling down the runway with the latest make- up trends, the looks were revealed on giant screens as well. That contributed to the unique atmosphere of the show which was the first show of Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Berlin. The show was a highly creative cocktail of colors, impressions and inspirations. Incredibly impressive! In the evening of the 18th of January 2016, Maybelline invited a large number of VIPS, key customers and international press to witness that event.
The show started with the following words: “This is for the women who make it happen…the ones who look in the mirror with confidence, and see the power of possibilities….This is for the women who put their best face forward…who take on the street, and own it…Maybelline New York: Make it happen!…and now: discover the power of colors, the It- Looks 2016. Every month, one It- Look.” During the show, for every month, one innovative It- Look was presented.
Afterwards impressions of skyscrapers in New York were visible and the following words: Make it drama. Under that theme, the first dramatic make- up look was shown. It consisted of a high ponytail in combination with a simply seductive, strong make- up. That make- up was both focused on the eyes which were kept in dark hues, but also the lips were kept in dramatic dark red. Simply seductive!
The runway was the prelude of a newly integrated campaign, which will start with numerous tutorials and advertisement- and social media publications. Moreover both the long, and the short version of the show can be watched on maybelline.de and on its own YouTube channel.
Under its official hashtag #mnymakeithappen, Maybelline New York presented the superior make up- trends for 2016. They were created by Maybelline New York star make- up artist Boris Entrup. The “Make It Happen”- thought was clearly underlined by presenting those innovative It- Looks. The 12 It- Looks will be visible for consumers on maybelline.de, in advertorials and in PoS.
The whole presentation could be seen as an ode to powerful women who dare to show their very own strength, believe in themselves and live a self- determined life. Thanks to Maybelline New York those make- up trends become accessible to every woman. Beauty is diverse and Maybelline New York underlines each type of beauty in the most delightful way. Apart of that, it encourages women to express and underline their individual beauty.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid, international spokesperson of Maybelline New York, was thrilled by the show. Among numerous other celebrities like Maybelline New York testimonial Lena Gercke, she witnessed the show frontrow and showed her excitement for the different looks and the show even on her snapchat profile.
It was hard to choose our favourite look as each look appeared utterly unique. We loved a make- up with colourful dots around the eyes which reached until the hairline, paired with back- combed hair. It was fun to watch Maybelline New York’s creative mix and match with various color combinations. Incredibly inspiring!
During the evening, we got pampered by Mogg’s New York Deli Bites and Gourmet Hot Dogs by Bourbon Dogs. Jules Mumm catered for the perfect refreshment with its Raspberry Mojito, french vine aperitif Lillet with its Lillet Rosé. Suitable to the color concept of the show, Thomas Henry created his colourful Thomas Henry Mystic Mango. The Cuptails were simply seductive, they were a mix of cupcake and cocktail. Simply smooth!
Thank you Maybelline New York for the highly inspiring evening!
