Ariana Grande and r.e.m. beauty introduce Blur Butter Lip Balm, a new lip product designed to deliver hydration, buildable color and a soft matte finish. The formula draws directly from Grande’s preference for the look of matte lipstick and her frustration with the dryness that often comes with it.

Grande explains that her own experience with matte lipstick guided the product’s development. She previously enjoyed the appearance of a matte lip but disliked the way many formulas felt after application. Dryness and flaking made the finish difficult to wear, even when the color and effect suited the look she wanted.
“I used to love a matte lip, but never how it felt on my lips or how flaky it became,” she says. “Blur Butter is the perfect soft matte that gives you that desired blur, but hydrates like crazy and leaves you feeling so soft and hydrated.”
The formula uses plant-based blur powders and mineral pigments to soften the visible appearance of lip texture. These ingredients create the diffused effect while allowing the color to remain buildable. Users can apply a light layer for a soft wash or add more product for greater intensity.
