Austin Butler continues his role as global ambassador for YSL Beauty with the launch of MYSLF Absolu, a new addition to the MYSLF fragrance line. Butler first appeared in the campaign for MYSLF Eau de Parfum, the brand’s debut woody-floral scent introduced in 2023. He followed up in 2024 with MYSLF Le Parfum, a deeper, more intense version. This season, YSL Beauty extends the collaboration with Butler, presenting the latest release in the series.
FRAGRANCES
MYSLF Absolu introduces a cool-spiced update to the original MYSLF structure. The scent opens with a sharp hit of ginger, layered with bergamot and cardamom. Orange blossom sits at the center, while the base brings depth through warm woods and patchouli. This shift marks a more pronounced structure, built to reflect the amplified energy and presence the campaign suggests.
The design of the bottle aligns with YSL Beauty’s focus on reducing environmental impact. The MYSLF Absolu flacon uses recycled glass and FSC Mix certified boxes. The new version of the packaging moves away from transparent lacquer and takes on a tone-on-tone metallic finish, turning the glass into a dark-silver mirror from bottle to cap. The reflective surface matches the fragrance’s sparkling trail, tying the design directly to its aromatic qualities.
YSL describes MYSLF Absolu as the highest intensity in the MYSLF range. Each element of the scent sharpens what came before. Ginger essence cuts through the top notes, reinforced by cardamom. Orange blossom brings a radiant texture to the middle. In the base, patchouli anchors the fragrance with warmth and complexity. YSL sources its patchouli through fair trade programs in Indonesia, which support local communities and rely on sustainable cultivation practices.
YSL offers MYSLF Absolu in three sizes: 40ml ($130), 60ml ($180), and 100ml ($210). Each bottle maintains the monolithic shape that defines the MYSLF collection but reflects the new identity of the scent through its mirrored finish.
