Willy Chavarria expands his creative practice into home fragrance through a collaboration with Mexican fragrance house Xinú. The designer introduces a limited-edition interpretation of the FlordeMusgo candle, replacing its original white ceramic vessel with a matte black version featuring a custom Willy Chavarria medallion. The release revisits a fragrance that previously accompanied his Spring Summer 2027 runway presentation, Comunión, extending the sensory experience of the collection into a new product category.

CANDLES

The collaboration brings together Chavarria’s Mexican cultural influences and Xinú’s approach to fragrance, which draws inspiration from nature and the environment. The designer has long admired the fragrance house and its relationship with Mexico, making the project a personal exploration of scent, design and cultural identity.

Chavarria first introduced the collaboration during his Spring Summer 2027 presentation in Paris last June. Titled Comunión, the runway show incorporated the FlordeMusgo fragrance into its atmosphere, allowing guests to experience the scent alongside the collection.

That initial introduction developed into the newly released Comunión Candle Set, which brings the fragrance into a physical object designed for domestic spaces.

The limited-edition candle retains the original FlordeMusgo composition, with notes of lime oil, tuberose, moss and cedarwood. The fragrance opens with fresh citrus and floral notes before developing into deeper woody and earthy tones.

Chavarria describes his admiration for the way Xinú connects its fragrances with the natural environment and cultural identity of Mexico. He hopes the scent evokes the experience of forests and open skies, reflecting his own response to the composition.

The collaboration focuses on the visual presentation of FlordeMusgo, introducing a matte black ceramic vessel in place of Xinú’s existing white design. A custom medallion bearing the Willy Chavarria identity adds a recognisable detail to the exterior.

The special edition comes inside a scented wool cocoon, extending the fragrance experience through its packaging. The set also includes Comunión Palito, a piece of driftwood collected along the Mexican coast. An engraved detail identifies the collaboration, while fragrance-infused thread wraps around the wooden object.

The candle contains 250 grams of wax and offers approximately 45 to 50 hours of burning time. The limited-edition FlordeMusgo candle and Comunión Candle Set are available through Willy Chavarria’s official website, with the collection priced at $120.
