Valentino Beauty introduces the campaign for Vendetta, a new prestige fragrance duo fronted by Dakota Johnson and Alexander Skarsgård. Directed by Romain Gavras and photographed by Inez & Vinoodh, the campaign explores intimacy through instinct, desire and emotional intensity.

CAMPAIGNS

Johnson and Skarsgård appear as two lovers drawn together by impulse. Their relationship develops through subtle tension, small gestures and a shared sense of freedom. The campaign follows them through sunlit settings, darker interiors and moments on the road, creating a visual story shaped by movement and connection.

Gavras keeps the camera in motion throughout much of the film, while close-up shots focus on the details that define the pair’s relationship. Shot on 35mm film, the campaign uses a cinematic visual language that places emotional tension at the center of the narrative.

The soundtrack, “It’s a Sin” by Pet Shop Boys, accompanies the film and supports its focus on passion as a form of defiance. Valentino’s signature red also appears throughout the campaign in controlled details, including clothing and visual accents that introduce moments of sensuality and anticipation.

Vendetta Donna, created by perfumer Dominique Ropion in collaboration with Andrew Everett, is a floral gourmand woody fragrance centered on tuberose. The composition uses Tuberose Osmobloom, which delivers a creamy and luminous floral character. A red orange nectar accord introduces a juicy brightness with a lightly salted effect. Sandalwood forms the base, bringing warmth and depth to the composition and leaving a soft trail on the skin.

Vendetta Uomo, created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, takes a woody spicy gourmand direction. It opens with ginger CO2 extract sourced from Peru alongside fresh Italian citrus. A cinnamon liquor accord develops through the center of the fragrance, supported by a mixture of spices that adds warmth and intensity. The base combines patchouli essence with modern carnal woods, giving the scent a structured and persistent finish.

The campaign positions the fragrances within a broader story about instinctive relationships and freedom from convention. Johnson and Skarsgård carry that idea through the film, while Gavras and Inez & Vinoodh translate it across motion and still imagery.
