e.l.f. Cosmetics is leaning fully into pickle culture with The Pickle Collection, a limited-edition release built around its Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm and a novelty makeup sponge shaped like a pickle.

The launch follows the success of e.l.f.’s original pickle-inspired Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm, which sold out in eight minutes earlier this year. According to the brand, 77 percent of customers who purchased the first release were new to e.l.f., prompting the company to expand the idea into a larger drop with three pickle-inspired lip options and the new Briny Blender Makeup Sponge.

The returning The Real Dill keeps the concept closest to its original form. The sheer green balm takes its flavor from classic dill pickles, pairing the unexpected reference with the Glow Reviver formula’s glossy finish.

Two new versions push the pickle theme further. e.l.f. Von Dill comes in a sheer green shade with shimmer and draws from German cornichons. The flavor balances sweet, salty and tangy notes, while the balm leaves a pearl-like glossy finish.

Spicy Lil’ Dill shifts into a deeper red shade with shimmer and introduces a hot, peppery flavor. It also uses a plumping formula, giving the third version a different effect from the two green options.

All three sit within e.l.f.’s Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm range, which uses a buttery formula designed to hydrate and nourish the lips while delivering buildable color and a glossy finish. The formula contains a 10 percent butter mix composed of shea, mango and cocoa butters, alongside a hyaluronic acid blend.

The collection also introduces the Briny Blender Makeup Sponge, a soft pickle-shaped tool designed for applying and blending liquid and cream formulas. Its elongated form can reach smaller areas of the face, while the latex-free foam can be used damp or dry. The sponge extends the pickle concept beyond lip products and into the wider makeup routine.

The Pickle Collection reflects e.l.f.’s response to the strong reaction surrounding the first launch. The company also points to wider interest in pickle flavors among younger consumers, citing research that found more than 20 percent of Gen Z respondents describe themselves as obsessed with pickles.
