Byredo introduces “Alto Astral,” a new eau de parfum that salutes Brazil’s vivid cultural energy. Perfumer Jérome Epinette shapes a composition the brand calls bright and addictive, building a musky warmth around sun-leaning notes. The campaign, photographed by Rio native Rafael Maura, focuses on intimate portraits of Brazilians, grounding the launch in lived identity rather than postcard stereotypes.
FRAGRANCES
The name lifts from Brazilian Portuguese, where “alto astral” describes an elevated state of mind. Byredo channels that feeling through contrasts of light and texture, aiming to connect nature and culture in a single, wearable idea. You sense that intent from the first spray: creamy coconut opens the fragrance and sets a radiant tone.
As the scent develops, jasmine petals and musk add heat and softness, rounding the heart without muting the brightness. The drydown settles into a textured base of sandalwood, cashmere wood, and salted amber. The mix reads fresh yet complete, lift up top, comfort underneath, so the profile feels easy to reach for while still carrying a distinctive signature.
“Alto Astral” joins Byredo’s lineup as a warm, modern take on coastal sensuality filtered through Brazilian references rather than generic beach cues. The bottle holds a composition designed to feel immediate on skin and memorable in the air, with familiar materials arranged to tell a new story.
Pricing and availability: “Alto Astral” retails for $235 USD (50 ml) and $330 USD (100 ml) and is available now on Byredo’s website.
