Carolina Herrera expands its Herrera Confidential line with Cedar Chic, a fragrance that draws inspiration from the house’s emblematic white shirt. For decades, the shirt has stood as a symbol of Carolina Herrera’s personal style, and now it takes new form through cedarwood, musk, and carefully selected floral notes.

Carolina Herrera’s bond with the white shirt began in childhood, when her grandmother gifted her a silk blouse worn with the collar turned outward. She later worked with seamstresses to create her own versions, turning the shirt into a constant in her wardrobe and fashion collections. “A white shirt gives you confidence. You can wear it with anything,” she has said. That symbol now inspires Cedar Chic, a fragrance translating the qualities of the shirt into scent.
Perfumer Antoine Maisondieu designed the composition as a couture-inspired scent. “Cedar Chic offers the global concept of a couture-inspired fragrance centered on the white shirt, a true hallmark of Carolina Herrera, with ingredients and essences textured and sculpted with delicacy,” he explained. He crafted the fragrance around freshness, floral elegance, and a foundation of cedarwood.
The fragrance begins with bergamot and aldehydes, creating a crisp opening that evokes the sensation of freshly laundered cotton. Orange blossom defines the heart, adding a romantic floral note that feels luminous and enveloping. At the base, three cedarwood extracts establish depth and character, layered with white musk for softness and light. The composition adapts to the personality of the wearer, reflecting the adaptability of the garment that inspired it. Carolina A. Herrera explains: “Cedarwood is a very powerful ingredient, and perfumer Antoine Maisondieu has managed to extract many different nuances from it, which adapt to the personality of each individual.”
Finished in pearly lacquered glass, the bottle references the smoothness of silk while presenting a clean, structured form. This aesthetic reflects the house philosophy that fragrance and fashion share the same vision, both guided by elegance and precision.
Cedar Chic launches on October 1st as part of the Herrera Confidential collection. The fragrance continues the narrative approach of the line, carrying the legacy of Carolina Herrera’s most recognizable garment into a different medium. Like the white shirt, it adapts to the wearer while staying connected to the codes of the house.
