YSL Beauty has tapped global ambassador Austin Butler to front the newest addition to its MYSLF fragrance collection, MYSLF Eau de Toilette Intense. The new scent expands the cult-favorite line through a fresher and more intense direction, with the brand describing it as “minerally fresh, intensely musky and radically sensual.” Inspired by the changing nature of modern masculinity, the fragrance builds on the identity of MYSLF while pushing the Eau de Toilette format toward a more diffusive, skin-focused result.
FRAGRANCES
Perfumers Daniela Andrier, Cristophe Raynaud, and Antoine Maisondieu developed the fragrance with a clear challenge in mind. “When creating the fragrance, the challenge for us as perfumers was to push conventional expectations of the Eau de Toilette experience with a new intensity that is unmistakably YSL,” they say. “Its modernity lies in being clean yet sensual and incredibly diffusive without ever being aggressive.”
That idea shapes the fragrance from its first notes to its drydown. MYSLF Eau de Toilette Intense responds to the current popularity of skin-first, musky scents, bringing a laundry-like, stripped-down quality into the MYSLF line. The scent keeps the sensual character of the original fragrance, while giving the composition a cleaner and more direct impression. YSL Beauty positions the release around contrast in texture and sensation, with freshness, musk, and warmth working through a controlled formula.
The fragrance opens with bergamot and a clary sage heart, creating a fresh first impression. Orange blossom and geranium bourbon Madagascar follow, giving the scent a recognizably masculine direction within the YSL Beauty fragrance language.
The drydown carries the scent into its musky register. White musks, patchouli, amber woods, and cashmeran create the lingering base, giving MYSLF Eau de Toilette Intense its skin musk quality. This final layer brings warmth and depth while keeping the fragrance close to the body.
