Jean Paul Gaultier brings Fleur du Mâle back into its fragrance lineup, reviving the aromatic fougère originally launched in 2007 and created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The return follows the relaunches of Gaultier² and Ma Dame, continuing the house’s renewed attention to fragrances that established distinctive chapters within its perfume catalog.

FRAGRANCES

Fleur du Mâle approaches masculine fragrance through orange blossom, placing the floral note at the center of an aromatic fougère. Petitgrain and bergamot peel open the composition with crisp green-citrus freshness, sharpened by juniper, before orange blossom develops alongside geranium and cinnamon bark.

In the base, coumarin introduces tobacco and hay nuances, while vanillin adds warmth. The contrast between fresh aromatic notes, the floral core and the warmer drydown gives the fragrance its distinctive character, while Francis Kurkdjian’s use of orange blossom gives the 2007 release its unconventional place within Jean Paul Gaultier’s men’s fragrance line.

Jean Paul Gaultier also restores the fragrance’s original visual identity. Fleur du Mâle returns in the sculptural male torso bottle associated with the house’s fragrance collection, rendered entirely in white. The monochrome treatment keeps the bottle visually direct and connects its appearance to the clarity of the fragrance concept.

The relaunch forms part of Jean Paul Gaultier’s wider return to earlier perfume releases. Gaultier² and Ma Dame have already reentered the house’s fragrance offer, and Fleur du Mâle now becomes the latest addition. These returns give existing admirers access to fragrances that disappeared from regular distribution while introducing them to a new audience.

Jean Paul Gaultier offers the fragrance exclusively through its website until September 10, after which select retailers will also carry it.

Nearly two decades after its original introduction, Fleur du Mâle returns with the composition and visual identity that defined its first release: orange blossom at the center, aromatic green notes around it and the white torso bottle that immediately identifies it as Jean Paul Gaultier.
