Amouage returns to its Secret Garden collection with Love Hibiscus, a new fragrance that continues the House’s exploration of contemporary femininity through contrast and composition. First introduced in 2016 and reworked in 2024, the collection builds each scent around the dialogue between floral notes and gourmand elements. Love Hibiscus follows this structure while introducing a sharper, more vivid direction, shaped by the distinctive character of the hibiscus flower and a contrasting edible accord.

The choice of hibiscus anchors the fragrance in Oman, where the flower appears throughout the landscape. Its olfactory profile resists easy definition, combining tart, herbal, and lightly sweet nuances that become more pronounced when transformed into tea. This complexity informed the direction of the composition, requiring a treatment that retains both its brightness and its more grounded, earthy facets. The result places hibiscus at the center of the scent, presented without softening or simplification.

To counterbalance this floral intensity, the composition introduces a salted caramel accord inspired by palmiers, a pastry associated with the childhood memories of Amouage’s Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon. The contrast between the hibiscus and the caramel element defines the structure of the fragrance, creating a dialogue between sharpness and warmth. Supporting notes such as passion fruit and frankincense connect these opposing elements, while sandalwood, cypriol, and vanilla add depth and weight to the base.

Perfumer Jérome Epinette translates this concept into a composition where both sides remain clearly defined. The hibiscus note carries a tart, berry-like profile with herbal undertones, while the caramel accord introduces a creamy, textured sweetness. Rather than blending these elements into a single tone, the fragrance maintains their distinction, allowing the tension between them to shape its identity.

Love Hibiscus extends the Secret Garden narrative, joining existing scents that each interpret femininity through a specific pairing of floral and gourmand notes. The fragrance arrives in the updated Secret Garden flacon, introduced in 2024, with a ceramic finish that adds a tactile dimension to the object. Its hibiscus red color reflects the intensity of the composition, while the packaging continues the visual direction developed for the collection.
