7 Ways to Pamper Yourself and Love Your Body

It’s the new year and while everyone is busy making resolutions that they’ll most likely break, I’m over here resolving to love my body more and to treat it with love and respect. While I definitely won’t get it perfect, I know that the most beautiful thing I can put on is confidence. I don’t need to wait until some external goal is reached in order to show myself some love and to appreciate the body I’m in. Here are 10 of the best ways to pamper yourself and love your body.

Tell Your Body Thank You

Odds are, you’ve been through a lot in your life. Whether your body helped you bring a baby into this world, or it helped you reach a goal like running a marathon, thank your body. Appreciate what it has done for you. While it might not be the perfect size or shape that you’d prefer, there is no reason to take it out on your body.

Buy Beautiful Clothes That Fit

I hear women say things like, “I’ll buy that dress when I get to XX size.” Oh, when I hear that, I cringe. What they are essentially saying is that they don’t deserve to buy beautiful things right now. They’ll only earn the right to do it if they can get to that smaller size. Women, hear this, buy beautiful clothes that fit your body where it’s at right now. The confidence you’ll gain by doing this cannot be overstated. When you feel great in your body, you look great, and it has nothing to do with the size of clothing you’re wearing.

Splurge on a Designer Swimsuit

Are you getting ready for a big trip to somewhere warm and tropical? While you might be tempted to crash diet or buy the cheap bathing suit off the rack of your nearest department store, stop and think about what you really want. If you desire a bathing suit that looks incredible, invest in designer swimsuits instead. While you may only buy one or two, it’s okay to splurge on something special for the vacation you’ve been planning for a while. It’s not a necessity, but doing something like this is one small way to pamper yourself.

Take a Day Trip

Is work getting you down? You might benefit from a quick day trip somewhere nearby. Take the day off work and go see local sights, and experience a little diner you’ve never tried before. Check out local boutiques, and sip coffee at a local café. A day trip is an excellent way to get a break from the mundane and pamper yourself.

Tell Yourself Nice Things

Did your mom ever tell you something like, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all?”. She was right. Kindness goes a long way. It even applies when it comes to your body. Can you relate to hating how you look or feel in your body? Don’t tell yourself how gross you think you are. Find something to love instead. Maybe you love the way your hair falls or you like the way your toes look when you wear sandals. Tell yourself nice things. Spend your time focusing on the things you like instead of those you don’t.

Buy Your Favorite Snacks

If you’re ever guilty of leaving your favorites at the store and just settling for the snacks that everyone else has in the house, go back and buy your snack. Whether you munch on something in the afternoon to keep you from falling asleep at your desk, or you enjoy your snack after the kids have gone to bed, you need a snack that’s just for you.

Do Something For Yourself That You’ve Been Holding Off On

There is no better day than today to check something off your bucket list. Go get that massage or take a day at the spa. Invest in some art supplies you’ve been eyeing, including the expensive paper. Make plans to take that trip to the mountains or the beach. Pampering yourself simply means that you do something to put your wants ahead of other things. If you want to go to the movies in the middle of a weekday, then plan a day off to do it. If you want someone else to clean your home for once, then hire a housecleaner to make it shine.
